Synopsis: The battle for the Crown has begun, but which of the three sisters will prevail?

With the unforgettable events of the Quickening behind them and the Ascension Year underway, all bets are off. Katharine, once the weak and feeble sister, is stronger than ever before. Arsinoe, after discovering the truth about her powers, must figure out how to make her secret talent work in her favor without anyone finding out. And Mirabella, once thought to be the strongest sister of all and the certain Queen Crowned, faces attacks like never before—ones that put those around her in danger she can’t seem to prevent.

In this enthralling sequel to Kendare Blake’s New York Times bestselling Three Dark Crowns, Fennbirn’s deadliest queens must face the one thing standing in their way of the crown: each other (Goodreads).

Review: Woah, okay you guys… this book was so fast-paced – I loved it! If you read Three Dark Crowns and were concerned with the pace of the book being too slow, you have nothing to worry about with the sequel. I felt as if I was on the edge of my seat (or my bed, let’s be honest) because it was so action-packed.

I found myself still loving all three sisters and wanting to know what was going on on their side of the island. After reading this book can I pick a favorite Queen? Uhm, that’s a tough question but I think Arsinoe is at the top of the list currently, but that may be because of her friendship with Jules and Camden. If you didn’t think Jules was a complete bad-ass in the first book, you’re in for a shock. I feel this is an appropriate time to point out how awesome it would be to have a familiar – sign me up!

My parting words to you are this: Just when you think you have it figured out, BAM! Plot twist!
